Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is a hard race not to fall in love with.
It's fast, dangerous, beautiful, and still wild.
A twelve-and-a-half mile ribbon of twisted mountain road climbing towards a finish line well above the clouds. The vehicles are purpose-built to do this one thing well. The weather does what it will with no regard to the hopeful masses milling around the start line. And, after more than a century, people still show up every June to see who can get to the top the fastest.
01. THE RACE, I

01. THE RACE, II
I first came to Pikes Peak in 2018 for Acura Motorsports. Two years later, I was back with Yokohama, and I've been back nearly every year since.
We've made a lot on this mountain over the years. Films, photographs, stories, some silly stuff, some serious stuff, and plenty in between.
The work on this page isn't all of it... its just the bits I can find without deep-diving the archive.

02. THE MOUNTAIN
Pikes Peak has a way of making itself the main character.
The weather, altitude, history, and twelve miles of tarmac are as much a part of the story as whatever car or driver happens to be there that year.
Over time, some of our work started leaning into that. Slowing things down and giving the race a little more reverence for how big it actually is.
Race mornings became one of those opportunities. Something more considered to counter the faster, lighter content we generally release in the week leading up to the main event.

The mountain deserves some reverence.
The people who race up it generally demand less.
Between practice runs and race day, we've spent a lot of time finding excuses to put cameras in front of drivers. Quizzes, trending formats, random bits of life in the shadow of a 14,115' behemoth.
Sometimes its useful. Sometimes its just for fun.

04. THE BRANDS
With everything happening at Pikes Peak, it's easy to get distracted. The mountain, the drivers, and everything else going on becomes a blur. But we never forget the brands who keep sending us back.
So, alongside the stories, personalities, and race-week excitement, we make sure the brands and products get their turn, too. Recap reels, product stories, and plenty of fast cars keep us on track.
Racing one of the world's toughest races is pretty good advertising for any automotive product.
